Smith brings more than two decades of experience with the company across European markets and will lead efforts to deliver reliable cooling, heating and dehumidification solutions during planned maintenance, system upgrades, extreme weather events and emergency outages.
The appointment comes as weather-related temperature fluctuations continue to put pressure on fixed HVAC systems across the UK and Ireland, intensifying demand for temporary and supplementary solutions that maintain continuity when long-term infrastructure is updated or repaired.
Aggreko is enhancing both its specialist engineering capability and fleet availability in response. This includes access to its latest low-emission technologies under the Greener Upgrades portfolio, which features hybrid temperature control packages that pair battery storage with Stage V generators to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and increase system resilience.
Alan Dunne, Managing Director for Aggreko UK and Ireland, said Smith’s appointment comes at a crucial time for the sector. “Helping provide contractors with efficient and resilient solutions, Chris and our expert engineering teams will be able to support our customers through the entire process,” he said. “Through this, we will be able to implement our leading solutions and strengthen our position as leaders to the industry.”
