Aermec invests in future talent

Aermec UK is investing in the future with the appointment of the company’s first trainee in service, commissioning and warranties.

Taylor King is the company’s second trainee to benefit from Aermec’s commitment to training the next generation of HVAC professionals, and the first to receive service, commission, and warranty support. Last year, the company took on Marshal Packer to work alongside engineers in the service division.

“Since joining Aermec I have been well supported and mentored. There is a pathway that enables progression, indicating the company’s commitment to investing in the future that enables employees to acquire new skills and experience through on-the-job learning and develop satisfying careers,” says Taylor.

Aermec’s sales service, including commissioning and warranty, is rapidly expanding to meet customer needs. Aermec advocates for nurturing talent and training the next generation of HVAC professionals who can address potential skills gaps in the industry.

“We need to keep driving the business forward and meet the needs of our customers, but we are also conscious of the skills gap in the HVAC industry. All businesses can play a part as there is a need for skilled professionals to help customers decarbonise and meet their net-zero targets,” said Andy Hawes, Aermec’s general manager of technical services.

Aermec will equip Taylor with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage warranty claims, as well as bring new systems and/or equipment online, assist with the setup of new equipment and/or systems, and perform upgrades.

Taylor will benefit from hands-on training and mentorship from experienced professionals, developing the skills to liaise with engineers, manage and allocate resources for planned works, and monitor and report PPM performance, as well as communicate with all stakeholders, both internally and externally.

A growing skills gap exists in the HVAC industry. Companies are proactively ensuring there is a pipeline of skilled professionals to meet the demands, and the provision of pathways for advancement fosters employee loyalty, retention and job satisfaction.

“By investing in the skills our business needs, we are also investing in the HVAC industry, and we are pleased to support Taylor on her career path,” added Hawes.
