With more than 35 years of experience in the HVAC industry, Pittendrigh brings a strong background in modular cooling systems, packaged plant solutions, and energy-efficient infrastructure. His most recent focus has been on heat export and low-carbon system design, particularly for large-scale applications such as energy centres and chiller plant rooms.
In his new role, Pittendrigh will focus on identifying growth opportunities, developing client relationships and advising on the specification of sustainable, cost-effective solutions for temperature control in data centres and distributed energy networks.
The appointment comes as data centres face mounting pressures linked to power demand, AI-driven hardware evolution and increasing sustainability targets. Aermec has stated that it is prioritising innovation to meet these sector-specific demands while helping clients reduce environmental impacts.
Andy Hawes, General Manager Technical Sales at Aermec UK, said: “We are pleased to be welcoming John to the team. He has considerable experience and in-depth knowledge of the data centre industry, where his contributions will be pivotal in supporting our business plans and adding value for our customers.”
