Advanced Engineering, the specialist chemical manufacturer and brands distributor, was joined by Falklands War veteran and author Simon Weston on 4th May for its charity golf day at Sherfield Oaks Golf Club in Hampshire.
Attended by the Advanced Engineering team, their customers and editors from key ACR publications, the golf tournament winner, who came out ahead of a field of 60 golfers, was Andy Thomas from FSW who won by 44 points.
After the match guests warmed up from the cold with an evening meal and exclusive audience with the inspirational Simon Weston.
Now in its 23rd year, the annual golfing event allows the company to thank its most-valued customers.
Barry Lea, chairman of Advanced Engineering, said: “We are privileged to work with so many good people in our industry – particularly our customers, distributors and suppliers. Days like this allow us to thank them for their support… while also supporting the wider community that we work within”
This year’s charitable benefactor is Changing Faces. Established in 1992, it helps those with visible disfigurements to reach their potential: free from prejudice or abuse.
Advanced Engineering presented Simon Weston with a cheque for £5,000, as well as an additional £145, which was raised on the day by those attending the event.
