ADCAS president attacks Government over retentions

THE new president of the ductwork contractors group ADCAS has slammed the Government over its failure to ban retentions.
Speaking at the Association's AGM in London, new president Paul Roxburgh said 'So far the opportunity to get rid of retentions offered by the 2012 Olympics has been ignored - despite all the promises,' he said.

'The amount of retention money owed to our members at any one time represents a very serious lottery win, but one without a happy ending in sight'
Paul Roxburgh also pointed out that because ADCAS members are often sub-sub-contractors they run the risk of being pressured into accepting a higher level of retention - 5% in place of a contract limit of 3%.
'We urge members to resist - and report this malpractice wherever it occurs.'
