ACR Group announces record results

A US-based leader in the distribution of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment has posted record results following strong demand in the second quarter.
ACR Group, a national leader in wholesale distribution of air conditioning and ventilation supplies has posted record results for both the second quarter and the six month period ending on August 31st 2006.

The group reported total revenues of $76.1 million (£41 million) for the second quarter, representing a 24.5 per cent increase on the previous year's profits.

Combined revenues from January to June this year stood at $138.1 million, a 27 per cent increase on the same period last year for the blossoming distributor.

Strong demand for products, a burgeoning market for equipment complying with new federal minimum efficiency standards in the US and strong seasonal demand were all factors contributing to strong profits, ACR Group said.

In a statement Alex Trevino, president and chief executive, outlined his vision for the company.

'As we expand our regional footprint into new growth markets such as Arizona, we will continue to target select regional platforms where our quality, competitively priced brands and 'one-stop-shop' service model have the potential to capture significant market share,' he said.

Mr Trevino highlighted the firm's focus on product availability as a touchstone in ACR Group's 'incremental profitability over time', pointing to its relative stability in an industry recently redefined by major product and pricing changes.
