AAC buys local rival

Derbyshire-based air conditioning contractor AAC has purchased local rival Airequip as part of its expansion plans, according to the Derby Evening Telegraph.
The move is designed to strengthen AAC Air Conditioning's plans to strengthen its office fit-outs and emergency breakdown cover business.

Airequip has an annual turnover of around £250,000 and was sold to AAC for an undisclosed sum. The company provides air conditioning and ventilation solutions to commercial industrial and domestic customers, including design, installation, servicing and maintenance services.

'The synergy that will be created with this new acquisition means that we can offer a complete and comprehensive service to industrial, commercial, retail, leisure and domestic sectors,' Steve Cooper, AAC company director, told the newspaper.

AAC air conditioning was established in 1996 as an independent supplier and approved installer of all leading brands of air conditioning and ventilation equipment.

The company recently invested £300,000 in its Lancaster Park headquarters and is planning a large-scale expansion of the company.
