a1-cbiss is excited to launch its new standalone refrigerant gas leak detector - RefDetec - for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
RefDetec has been designed to meet the demands of more stringent legislation affecting leak detection. It allows for infinite customisation of gas alarm levels, outputs, communications and power supply options, making it the most flexible stand-alone leak detector available in the industry.

a1-cbiss will showcase RefDetec at the ACR Show, NEC, Birmingham (11th - 13th February).

The refrigerant gas leak detector for dual gas detection of CO2 (0-3%) & HFC (0-2000ppm) can be used in the following type of organisations:

· Retail convenience stores with chilled storage
· Chiller plant rooms
· Buildings that use A/C systems, such as hotels

RefDetec is ideal for making leak detection cost savings for use within supermarkets, hotels, distribution centres or any applications where continuous monitoring of refrigerant gases is required to satisfy the standards of F-Gas Regulations and guidance for BREEAM.

Traditionally, aspirated leak detection systems were the system of choice because of the number of points that were being monitored around the plant. With any new build supermarkets likely to be smaller convenience style stores with only a limited number of detection points, a1-cbiss has developed a new leak detection system that satisfies their requirements.

The flexibility of the RefDetec means that it is suitable for a range of applications for gas leak detection including large or small sized plants all affected by more stringent legislation. No matter what the size of the application is, the RefDetec has been designed to provide an effective and cost-saving solution.

Reduced Installation Costs
The RefDetec is perfect for applications requiring a simple, quick and cost-effective installation. The detector has been designed with the aim of reducing installation costs, through innovative design to offer a tailored solution to customer specific requirements.

Enhanced Connectivity
The RefDetec incorporates up to two analogue outputs (4-20mA and/or 0-10mV). Furthermore, volt free relays, Modbus (RS485 or RS232) or TCP/IP (Ethernet) ensure ultimate flexibility. Its future proof design will allow for wireless transmission.

Fully Flexible Configuration
The RefDetec uses innovative and high speed gas sensors housed in a hard wearing, non-flammable casing. Fully configurable visual alarms are presented in a coloured LED display unit and optional sounder to give an indication of alarm points. An optional LCD display is available to present detailed gas readings, fault status, or alarm.

Easy Operation
Once the gas detector has been turned on, a green LED will illuminate to indicate that the unit is fully operational. The detection system has two levels of alarm; a flashing red LED for a low-level gas alarm and a solid red LED for high-level alarm.

Calibration & Replacing Sensors
Intuitive calibration software makes on-site calibration quick and easy. Each gas sensor is fully factory calibrated and modular in design with sensor specific information relating to the gas range and gas sensor type stored on the PCB.
