US calling for HFC reductions?

THE US government is said to be preparing to back calls for reductions in HFCs.
The UK has already raised concerns that HFCs might come under pressure at the next Kyoto Protocol meeting in December in Denmark, now Associated Press reports suggest that the Obama administration is to ask 195 nations that ratified the Montreal Protocol to enact mandatory reductions in HFCs.

This would represent a significant policy change by the US government and comes following recent reports of the US Environmental Protection Agency considering curbs on greenhouse gas emissions naming hydrofluorocarbons in addition to CO2, nitrous oxide, methane, perfluorocarbons and sulphur hexafluoride.
