SIRACH event to explore community heating and cooling

The Sustainable Innovation in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps (SIRACH) Network, dedicated to the promotion of new technologies in the acr and heat pump sectors, is planning a free event focused on community heating and cooling at the BRE on 05 July.

Community heating and cooling is currently big news across Europe, with the system becoming increasingly popular across the continent.

SIRACH has gathered some of the top experts in the field to explore the numerous benefits of community heating and cooling, including energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction.

The day’s schedule includes talks as well as the presentation of a new IOR technical paper dedicated to large scale heat pumps for high efficiency district heating projects. Kenneth Hoffman, the author of this paper, will explain the current surge of popularity of industrial heat pumps, drawing observation from the ammonia heat pumps being installed across Europe and discussing optimisation solutions to keep them safe in densely populated areas.

Delegates will have the chance to tour the BRE HVAC testing laboratories and see the ground breaking BRE Innovation Park in Watford, which features full-scale demonstration buildings displaying innovative design, materials and technologies.
