Samsung Climate Solutions merges safety, durability and innovation in DVM S Mini R32

Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe (SEACE) announces a new member to Samsung’s DVM S family, the DVM S Mini R32. This heating and cooling solution comes with R32 refrigerant with a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to the previous refrigerant R410A.

Moreover, the DVM S Mini R32 integrates the latest technologies like Active AI functionality and it’s compatible with our building management software b.IoT. This supports streamlined installations, optimised energy management, and efficient operations, all while maintaining a comprehensive oversight of integrated systems.

Safety and durability

While designing the DVM S Mini R32, special attention was paid to safety. The safety devices integrated guarantee maximum flexibility with the IEC 60335-2-40 standard. The outdoor unit is equipped with a shut-off valve and battery pack, while the indoor unit features a built-in R32 refrigerant leak detect sensor. The wireless remote controller has an audible and visible alarm system to alert users in the event of leakage.

Attention has been paid to durability as well, with the  Durafin Ultra technology which shields the heat exchanger with a dual-layer defence: an epoxy acrylic anti-corrosive layer coupled with a hydrophilic acrylic resin layer. This repels water and prevents corrosion from forming on the heat exchanger, to maintain optimal performance and efficiency. This has been validated by a 10,000-hour Salt Spray Test (SST), in which the DVM S Mini stood as a testament to enduring quality, with zero refrigerant leakage.

Silent power

The DVM S Mini R32 features a small footprint and is light weight, which makes it an ideal fit for residential and light commercial environments. Additionally, the quiet operation during the night creates an environment with a reduced noise level of 3-7 dB(A). With additional support provided through the Silent Mode function

Providing the optimal environment supported by the latest technology

The DVM S Mini R32 stands out with its seamless integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the compatibility with our building management software b.IoT. At the heart of its innovation is Active AI. One of the features is AI Refrigerant Analysis, which harnesses the power of deep learning to monitor and analyse operational data in real-time. The system proactively alerts its users if a discrepancy occurs and it will, for example, send an error message if the amount of refrigerant might be running low. This helps to ensure optimal refrigerant levels and prevents inefficiencies and potential system issues from occurring.

Furthermore, the system is equipped with AI Pressure Control, which learns usage patterns from recent operations and the surrounding conditions. This way the DVM S Mini R32 proactively creates the optimal environment to suit users’ general preferences.

Building on this foundation of Active AI, the DVM S Mini R32 enhances user experience with a Wi-Fi-enabled control. Each indoor cassette unit comes equipped with a factory-integrated Wi-Fi kit (MIM-H14EN) allowing for effortless management through the intuitive SmartThings App. This integrated feature eliminates the need for additional purchases and streamlines installation. Moreover, it not only offers convenience but also empowers users to monitor energy usage and adjust settings on-the-go, ensuring a harmonious balance between comfort and energy usage.

On top of these features, DVM S Mini R32 is compatible with b.IoT Lite. Samsung b.IoT (building Internet of Things) is a building management solution that can efficiently manage and save energy. It’s an open platform with expandability and compatibility options that enable integrated control of the facility's major systems. The synergy between the DVM S Mini R32 and b.IoT Lite paves the way for streamlined installations, optimised energy management, and efficient operations, all while maintaining comprehensive oversight of integrated systems.

Manuel Sanchez Sanz, Director of Pre-Sales at Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe, said: ‘The DVM S Mini R32 shows our dedication to being a pioneer and a leader in the field of climate control solutions. It’s an advanced heating and cooling system which includes all the latest technologies like SmartThings integration, b.IoT and AI while covering the essential factors of safety, robustness and durability. We’re proud to present a system that’s not only efficient, but adaptive to the evolving demands of industry. We’ll continue to commit to excellence, ensuring our partners benefit from state-of-the-art solutions.”
