The installation environment of the unit is characterised by the presence of combustion products such as CO2, sulfur compounds - SO2 and hydrogen sulfide - and high moisture content, elements that together create a particularly aggressive and highly corrosive mix from the chemical point of view.
For this specific environmental setting, the research and development department at Refrion has designed and implemented tailored Dual Bank machines with C5-M coated casings, blow-through EC fans with anodizing treatment and has equipped the units with stainless steel AISI304 tubes and aluminum fin coils treated with the special Electrofin protection. This treatment resists excellently in such environments, as evidenced by the C5 Marine & Industrial High Durability certification (ISO 12944) possessed by Electrofin. By opting for a solution with aluminum finned pack and Electrofin coating, the production of stainless steel heat exchangers have been excluded and more efficient results have been obtained both in terms of duration and costs.
