Overview Of Role

We have an interesting opportunity for a “hands on” engineer with experience in refrigeration systems and controls, to join a small team responsible for in excess of £10M worth of air conditioned cabinets, glasshouses and growth rooms, growing a wide range of temperate and tropical agricultural plants.

Knowledge of refrigeration systems including C&G 2079, ventilation and control systems is essential as innovative solutions are often required to support the challenging scientific needs of this world renowned agricultural crop research centre.

The post holder will be expected to work with teams responsible for refrigeration, electrical and mechanical services. Rothamsted uses a wide range of control packages. 

The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn in a dynamic and challenging environment. Specific training will be provided on our bespoke systems. Attention to detail and the determination to succeed are important. The post holder will be expected to participate in an on-call rota.
