Mr Macfarlane joins Kent-based Primalec from Euro Car Parts where he was air conditioning product manager. He has been involved in the air conditioning market since joining Vehicle Refrigeration Services in 1990, going on to hold a number of senior positions including sales manager and national accounts manager of Vehicle Air Conditioning Services, and owning his own company, Auto Air Parts.
His appointment follows Primalec’s recently announced strategic partnership with Netherlands-based Unicorn Tools.
The alliance will see Primalec open the UK market to a wider range of Unicorn’s product portfolio, with faster lead times and less currency risk. These lines will complement Primalec’s Glo-Leak UV, Seal Pro, Leaktronic, NitroTrace, Snow Leopard lubricants and Airco Service ranges in both the mobile and static acr sectors. At the same time, Unicorn will make Primalec brands available to more of its own customer base.
Mr Macfarlane will be responsible for managing major parts of the Primalec and Unicorn acr product portfolios, ensuring excellent customer service and support.
He said: “I am delighted to join Primalec at such an exciting time as I believe that the recent agreement with Unicorn puts the company in a strong position to grow the business over the coming months. The potential is there and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
Primalec director Richard Doran said: “We are delighted to welcome Aaron to the team. He has vast experience in the air conditioning sector and I’m sure he will make a great contribution to the future success of the company.”
