Recycler prosecuted for burning fridges

THE boss of a recycling firm has been convicted of illegally dumping and burning waste fridges and air-conditioners, according to the Journallive.co.uk website. It reports that an undercover surveillance operation by Newcastle City Council discovered Ian Chapman, director of Fast Track Recycling Services in Cramlington, Northumberland, had been burning the waste instead of recycling it.

GERMAN car manufacturers are reported to have given their backing to the new refrigerant HFO1234yf thus paving the way for the worldwide acceptance of this gas as a replacement for R134a in car air conditioning systems.

Scotsman launches CO2 ice flaker

SCOTSMAN is said to have successfully completed trials of a CO2 ice flaker. Based on its MF 58 Split model, the ice flaker was trialled in Toulouse, south of France in conjunction with the Carrefour supermaket group.
