For 90 years it has not just been about aviation for Kilfrost, with attempts to de-ice the football pitch at Newcastle United and developing ‘Slimego’ to remove slime from meat in the 1930’s, working in the rail industry, working on Arctic convoys to keep ships safe, supplying products for Antarctic surveys and inventing the first ever glycol based aircraft de-icing and anti-icing fluids that have been modified many times but remain the basis of today’s products globally.  

Kilfrost remains a family owned SME business working across the globe. Aviation is a key market, but the business is making strides into geothermal activities, refrigerants - including for the drinks industry - as well as a low viscosity range of products. Kilfrost is also part of the community and supports many charities and events from Opera to helping people with Alzheimer’s and loneliness.

The future is bringing with it a new range of advanced low viscosity products, new geothermal products and a new range of aircraft de-icing fluids.
