IoR calls for new members

With public meetings and work place attendance still limited at the moment and yet so many people still needing to access technical information, on line training and networking, the IOR is making some temporary changes to our membership processes to make it easier and quicker for people to join.

IOR is inviting current members to identify someone they work with who would benefit from membership – allow them to access its comprehensive and reliable collection of online technical, education and training resources. IOR membership distinguishes people in the industry who want to learn more and refresh their technical knowledge. For those new to the industry IOR now has a Membership Pathways mentoring scheme, which pairs them with an experienced member who can help them to plan and guide their professional development so that they have a clear route to get them from Associate (or Pre-Associate) level to full Member grade recognition.

As part of this initiative, the IOR has temporarily reduced the joining fee from £49 to £20 for everyone.  For those experiencing financial difficulty there will be a membership payment holiday for three months. Anyone who joins online will get access to the online library and news whilst their membership application is being processed and can start getting involved in the IOR network straight away.

The IOR continues to offer many services for members, both existing and new, in spite of Covid-19 restrictions, with a growing programme of online events, new publications regularly uploaded to the website and encouraging debate on issues critical to the future of our sector – such as the new climate change challenge campaign 'Beyond Refrigeration'. Follow us on social media or checkout the IOR website to keep in touch with developments.
