IOR Annual Conference to cover risk assessment and refrigerant safety

For its 2019 Annual Conference on 12 June 2019, the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) will focus on the importance of refrigerant safety and risk assessment.

While risk assessment is not new, there are many reasons to take a fresh look at this topic.

The conference is the ideal opportunity to find out about the most up to date best practice. It will also help members understand the steps that need to be taken to reduce risk to employees, subcontractors and members of the public, particularly with regard to new refrigerants coming onto the market.

A new Guidance Note from the IOR on Point of Work Risk Assessment will be launched at the conference, providing a template with the key risk areas a technician needs to consider before they start work.

The event will include several case study presentations, a step-by-step guide on assessing risk by John Ellis, and an overview of safety and risk related to the use of flammable refrigerants by Dermot Cotter.
