DiversiTech acquires Stride Tool

DiversiTech has acquired Ohio-based Stride Tool, a global original equipment manufacturer of American-made speciality hand tools known for their proven durability.

Stride Tool’s flagship brand, Imperial, was established in 1905 and enjoys a market-leading presence among HVACR technicians. The company’s other notable brands include Milbar, a leading brand of wire twister tools and kits, Lakeland Products, a leading brand for tube fabricating equipment, and Bright Solutions International, a supplier of leak detection products and speciality hand tools.

Stride Tool maintains a manufacturing facility in Solon, Ohio, and manufactures a variety of other products for tube working, automotive, electrical and industrial applications. The company also holds a strong patent history, with more than 60 total patents.

The acquisition has enabled DiversiTech to expand its HVACR tool product offering and increases its US manufacturing capabilities from five locations to six. As an ideal strategic fit, DiversiTech also expects that the acquisition of Stride Tool will further its mission to simplify the work of its wholesale customers and HVACR technicians.

Ron Ortiz, chief executive of Stride Tool, will join DiversiTech as the leader of the combined Tools business.
