Developed to create a perfect indoor environment at work and home, the Highline 275 joins Diffusion’s modular range of fan coil units, alongside the established Highline 235. Providing airflows up to 514l/s, the new higher-capacity Highline 275 units will ensure that even large-scale spaces benefit from the range’s modular design. Designed with compact dimensions, the Highline 275 range features advanced components that deliver low sound levels, reduced energy consumption, and optimal performance. Comprising eight sizes, including 13 models, the Highline 275 provides specifiers with greater flexibility, eliminating the need to over-specify, ensuring the ideal product for each project.
Innovation is at the heart of everything Diffusion does. Its latest design enhancements directly result from its close relationships with its customers and a deep understanding of their project requirements. The development of the higher capacity Highline 275 allows the modular range to be installed in a broader range of projects; however, despite higher airflows, the new fan coil units still offer exceedingly low sound levels. Delivering noise ratings as low as NR25 ensures their suitability for various applications where quiet operation is critical, such as offices, residential applications, and hotels.
Meanwhile, the range’s high-efficiency EC motor and fan assemblies provide new and improved Specific Fan Powers (SFP) as low as 0.12 W/l/s, reducing overall building energy consumption. The Highline 275 range also provides increased performance due to heat exchangers specifically designed to achieve optimum heating and cooling performance using industry-predominant hot water and chilled water temperatures.
Developed for performance and practicality, Diffusion’s Highline 275 reflects the expertise of the company’s dedicated in-house design team. Every element has been carefully considered to improve performance while ensuring easy service and maintenance, even in confined spaces. Demonstrating Diffusion’s commitment to continuous improvement, another new development is the introduction of a specific side access variant. This new design feature simplifies service and maintenance, particularly where services are located in ceilings, which prevent access to fan coil units from below. This new side access option enables the maintenance of the fans simply by sliding them out to the side of the unit, ensuring accessibility even in restrictive installations.
“Our close relationship with our customers drives our product innovation. We were therefore delighted to unveil the Highline 275 to them for the first time at our product launch event at Great Scotland Yard so they could see the design innovation for themselves. The Highline 275 has been developed to meet customer requirements by extending our size range to meet a wider range of projects; improving performance even further with Specific Fan Powers (SFP) as low as 0.12 W/l/s; and making the units easier to service and maintain by adding side specific access,” explains Alexis Roberts, channel marketing manager at Diffusion. The new Highline 275 is endlessly configurable, and offers quiet, high-performance, energy-efficient heating and cooling for the perfect indoor environment.”
Diffusion’s Highline 275 range’s modular design delivers ultimate flexibility, enabling attenuator and plenum options to be easily configured to suit the application. Design options are almost limitless as the Highline 275 is completely customisable with over 300,000 configurations, allowing customers to choose the fan coil that fits their particular design. This is important to buildings that have a change of use, as the units can be reconfigured on-site to suit the new purpose of the building and new configuration. This saves purchasing new models, which is costly and wasteful - a significant sustainability benefit.
Designed with aesthetics in mind, the Highline 275 is an attractive solution for architects who require a ceiling-exposed solution or those who prefer ceiling-concealed units. Featuring excellent build quality, the new Highline 275 range is built to last with a galvanised steel chassis for increased durability.
Meanwhile, Diffusion’s Lifetime ‘Eco’ wire mesh filter is supplied as standard with the Highline range. This option provides a robust, environmentally conscious solution that can be vacuum cleaned in situ. By opting for the Lifetime ‘Eco’ filter, approximately three synthetic filters a year are eliminated from going to landfill. Alternatively, ISO grade media filters can be supplied. The filters can be easily removed on-site from either the side of the unit or beneath the unit. The filters on the larger models are split into two or more parts, making them easy to remove or clean. This is particularly beneficial when the unit is installed in confined or awkward spaces.
The condensate drain tray and 22mm diameter drain connection are made from stainless steel for rigidity and longevity. The entire tray can easily be removed on-site for cleaning. At the same time, the drain connection is located at the lowest position of the condensate drain tray and fitted with a void tray so condensate can drain away easily.
Forward-curved centrifugal fans are used in all models, providing the most efficient airflow and acoustic performance. The fan coil units are insulated with class ‘0 ‘fire-rated foam. The thickness of the insulation throughout the unit varies to ensure superior thermal and acoustic performance; 70% of the foam is either 12 or 25mm thick.
Diffusion’s new Highline 275 range is compliant with all key performance standards. For transparency, Diffusion has used the CIBSE TM65 data collection methodology to collect accurate and detailed embodied carbon information for all its fan coil units. Working from a component level, this methodology ensures comprehensive and up-to-date data.
At the launch event, customers were treated to an unveiling of the Highline 275. As well as celebrating the first sight of the new product at The Great Scotland Yard in Westminster, a venue rich in history and charm, customers also enjoyed delicious food and refreshments. Meanwhile, alongside the product launch, Diffusion ran an exclusive charity auction, featuring a raft of prizes to support Cancer Research UK, the company’s charity of the year for 2025. Amongst the standout items up for auction were Premium VIP Premier Football tickets for Tottenham Hotspurs offering unlimited food, a complimentary half-time bar, and premium lounge access; and two VIP tickets to Cowes Regatta, including full hospitality throughout the day and overnight accommodation enabling the winners to soak up the atmosphere of the famous sailing event. A total of £1276 was raised for Cancer Research UK during the evening.
