Climalife UK Technical Event 2022

On 3 November 2022, Climalife welcomed guests to its first face-to-face Technical Event since 2019.

Held at Sedgebrook Hall, situated in the peaceful Northamptonshire countryside, customers were invited to join the knowledgeable panel of speakers from Climalife, Chemours, Dehon Group, Exxon-Mobil, Honeywell and Moove Lubricants for a series of informative presentations spanning the world of refrigerants, lubrication and heat transfer fluids with a big focus on energy efficiency and the environmental challenges of both today and tomorrow.  Spanning air conditioning, heat pump and comfort, industrial and commercial refrigeration applications there was relevant content for everyone.

Climalife was also delighted to welcome guests from the media; ACR Journal and Modern Building Services as well as tutors from the City of Portsmouth College.

This year, presentations were tailored very much around the challenges of the future and what the industry must do right now to not only stay on track with legislative and environmental goals but also to get ahead of the curve so that we can, at the very least, maintain the pace but also be prepared for bigger changes ahead.

Topics such as energy efficiency and the need to consider the total cost of ownership when it came to product choice were key – and particularly relevant in these times when the cost of living is rising for everyone.  Whilst the presentations were made by each of the product specialists, collectively everyone in the room recognised the common goals ahead.

Mel Summers, marketing manager at Climalife reported: “Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from all our guests.  These types of events do take a lot of organising but are always so rewarding when you see and hear the great benefits they bring, including the networking opportunities.  We have important messages to share and a wealth of expertise within our team and strong partner relationships – all available to support customers in any way that we can.”

Speakers from Chemours, Exxon-Mobil, Honeywell and Moove also reflected on the day’s event. Laurent Guillot, Industrial Lubes Distributor Europe West at Exxon-Mobil said “Once again an amazing event host by Climalife UK, which provided very valuable industry updates. Thanks for having Mobil and Moove; a great opportunity for us to discuss lubrication and energy efficiency.”

“Efficiently organized. Informative content provided during the event taking place in a picturesque venue. It was a great opportunity to hear about latest updates from the industry and to socialize with people involved in field operations on a daily basis. Looking forward to the next one.” Pawel Wisnik of Honeywell commented.

'Honeywell’s Solstice refrigerant solutions are engineered to help End Users minimize their energy needs, minimize their costs and maximize the uptime of their assets.  End Users can become carbon neutral faster and at lower cost by transitioning to Solstice® solutions.” added Sebastien Casterman, Offering Manager Refrigeration Europe.

Richard Onions, account manager for Mobil Lubricants at Moove valued the day’s events: “Climalife have demonstrated yet again that events such as these are still so valuable and beneficial to all involved. All the speakers were interesting, engaging and above all else relevant, given key industry updates. As Moove we welcomed the opportunity to speak at the event and discuss the importance of lubrication in refrigeration, especially when considering energy efficiency. We look forward to attending future events. Thank you.”

Mark Hughes from Chemours commented: “Congratulations to IDS Climalife for organising such an excellent event and bringing together representatives from all parts of the value chain to discuss the latest developments in our industry. We have missed these face-to-face occasions and with our continued emphasis on improving the training and knowledge of customers these are invaluable opportunities to help them understand how to handle the challenges they face. We were particularly impressed around the depth of the questioning during and after the presentations and we were pleased to be able to answer many of these on what was a very productive day.  Many thanks from your supporters at Chemours.”
