Advanced Engineering raises £5000 for Prostate Cancer UK

Advanced Engineering was joined by boxing legend John Conteh on 03 May for its charity golf day at Sherfield Oaks Golf Club in Hampshire.

Nick Wilks collects the top prize from Barry Lea.

The company invited key customers, as well as an enthusiastic Mr Conteh, to play on the renowned course, and it was Nick Wilks of Fujitsu who won the day.

The day was concluded with an evening meal, a random raffle and an entertaining talk by Mr Conteh.

“We are incredibly fortunate to work with so many good people in our industry,” says Advanced Engineering chairman Barry Lea. “Days like today give us that chance to express our thanks to our customers, distributors and suppliers for their support. But, more than that, they also let us support our wider community.

“We would like to thank Simon and everyone who attended for their time, their generosity and – above all else – their unwavering support.'

This year’s charitable benefactor of the £5170 raised, was Prostate Cancer UK and David Dibben took a few moments to talk about the importance of acknowledging  when your body is trying to tell you something is wrong. From his own experience, Mr Dibben urged: 'Don't leave it until it's too late.'

Now in its 24th year, the Advanced Engineering Golf Day is an established fixture on its customers' calendars.
