A-Gas participates in soapbox race for charity

Engineers from refrigerant specialists A-Gas, were in pole position to enter the popular Portishead Soapbox Derby to raise money for St Peter’s Hospice in Bristol.

Sam Pearce shows his driving skills in the Portishead Soapbox Derby.

The team decided to build a cart for the race using an electrical-powered A-Gas Rapid Recovery unit as inspiration. Their innovation paid off when they finished a creditable 11th out of the 40 entrants against many more experienced teams.

Special mention must go to driver Sam Pearce, who showed great technique in getting the vehicle down the course despite suffering a few bumps and bruises along the way.

St Peter’s Hospice cares for adults with life-limiting illnesses and through their hard work the A-Gas team will raise hundreds of pounds for the charity.
