Refrigeration cabinet drains are commonly installed flat to the floor. The problem here is, all gravity drains require a minimum of 1.8% slope to achieve the needed flow of 0.6 metres per second that gravity drains need to keep themselves clean.

Blocked condensate drains have the highest trickle down cost impact on refrigeration cabinets, fan motor damage, absorbent strips, slip claims, the list goes on.

The bio-beta pipe support is designed to easily retrofit existing drains, fitted in seconds, existing drains can be brought up to industry standard with no interruption to the cabinet function.

We have come up with a range of components to address the common issues that arise in drainage, from blockages to pump burnout to leaks. The range is designed by drainage specialists who know what the real problems are and where they occur – they are small components which have a big impact, having found nothing in the wholesalers to fix these problems, we decided to make the products ourselves.
The pipe support is a great demonstration of this. A common problem with cabinet condensate drains is that they run flat to the floor. This is one of the main reasons they block so frequently – because drains need to keep flowing to stay clean.
Without a slope, all the sediment settles and ultimately it blocks the drains – and cabinet condensate pumps can suffer the same problems if they don’t have a flow of water through them.
This was proved by a recent study which revealed that over 90% of condensate drain blockages in food retail occurred in drains that were running running flat to the floor.
The plastic pipe supports from Gel-clear are a masterpiece of simplicity – they are simply slid under the drain to create the optimum angle [of around 2 degrees] (Not a lot of people know that the EN12056 standard requires indoor gravity drains to have a minimum 1.9 degree slope or per cent?). The beauty of the bio beta supports is that they can be inserted without having to take anything out of service.
Use of the supports – costing just £8.99 for two – will improve drain efficiency dramatically, they’ll help stop spillages arising from blockages, and by making the drain compliant with EN12056, they’ll help avoid liability in the event of a slip and trip claim, paying for themselves many, many times over.
The bio beta range – simple but effective components from the drainage specialists.

Stop the blockages and ensure compliance in a matter of minutes, with no downtime.
