So many office-based people are always talking about wanting to get fit and do more, perhaps joining the gym over the road from the office, but it never happens. As a company, Fujitsu has decided to commit to an event that is not just good for fitness, but is more importantly going to help support some truly worthy charities. The London to Cambridge bike event on July 2 seemed the perfect way to raise funds for their chosen charities, so Team Fujitsu was created, with many staff joining the event to help support the good cause.
Team Fujitsu's chosen charities do tremendous work to raise awareness, provide support and conduct research for the development of life-saving treatment. The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families. NeST (Nephrotic Syndrome Trust) are raising awareness and funding research into Nephrotic Syndrome, a kidney condition which mainly affects children and can result in kidney failure. Meanwhile, CAH Support Group works to raise awareness of CAH (Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia), a potentially life-threatening condition where the body cannot release the cortisol hormone, meaning it is less able to cope with stress, either emotionally or physically.
