SolarCool heads for Hollywood

Energy efficient, low-voltage LED lights illuminate the 3-form countertops that are made from post-consumer recycled plastics. The huge wrap around couch is covered in eco-friendly fabric and faces massive mirrored walls with embedded flat screens. Large Hehr privacy windows keep the trailer cooler in any environment by reducing exposure to UVA/UVB rays and using natural light. In recognition of its eco-friendly design, Ecoluxe has already received TRA Certification’s highest rating of ‘Emerald.’

Hollywood Trucks the fast growing, eco-friendly, entertainment transportation provider, has signed a global exclusivity contract to install SolarCool on its production vehicles. The company has recently expanded its presence into multiple US locations and will begin its first international expansion into the UK in the first quarter of 2016.

The Louisiana-headquartered business started beta testing the first generation mobile Ecoluxe trailers in 2013 in partnership with The Next Energy Technology Inc.

“We continually research & test new technologies to further improve the overall efficiency of our applications. The most recent edition of the off-grid Ecoluxe line is powered by a patent pending 100% clean energy system comprising of an advanced combination of solar and thermal technologies, along with a hybrid backup generator for emergencies approved to utilize B20 biodiesel or ultra-clean, renewable synthetic diesel. There are additional plug-in capabilities also on board,” said Roger Timoteo, ceo of The Next Energy Technology.

Andre Champagne, ceo of Hollywood Trucks, said: “Our collective team of industry experts built the Ecoluxe trailer from the ground up, keeping only the most luxurious, green, and state-of-the art features in mind. This allows our clients to enjoy a truly comfortable experience, while productions save significant cost, and most importantly, we are all drastically reducing our total environmental impact.”

“The new energy system allows the trailer to run virtually silent at a level of NC 20-22, an industry first” added Mr Timoteo.

“Initial testing of the first applications of the clean energy systems have shown a dramatic 90% reduction in talent trailer generator idling and fuel usage, furthermore we expect our latest line being manufactured at this time to be approximately 30% more efficient than our initial results,” said Mr Champagne.

The new clean energy system will be used throughout the new Hollywood Trucks fleet including talent trailers, wardrobe trailers, camera trucks and restroom trailers.

The first edition Ecoluxe line have been used by stars like Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington, Antoine Fuqua, Will Farrell, Kevin Hart, Bruno Mars, Ryan Reynolds, Omar Epps, Ben Affleck, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Chris Rock, the entire casts of the hit FX Series American Horror Story and 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four, among many others.

Mark Crabtree, ceo of SolarCool International Inc, said: “We are very excited to be partnered with Hollywood Trucks, especially when it comes to having the opportunity for the entertainment industry to first utilize the new technology and verify the green credentials of SolarCool in this world’s first mobile application. This off-grid, clean energy system application is truly ground-breaking.”

“Although previously we were using the most efficient systems available, the single largest energy consumer in the whole trailer continued to be the comfort cooling/heating system. We placed significant focus on the HVAC components and found the solution. Our engineers have been installing SolarCool assisted systems for well over 18-months now, thus far reducing the average trailer energy consumption by over 70%,” Andre Champagne added.

Production of the most advanced, latest generation 100% clean energy Ecoluxe units are already being manufactured, due for nationwide delivery over the next few months, with the first UK editions due for deployment in the first quarter of 2016.
