RABScreen exhibits at 2018 HVAC & Refrigeration Show

RABScreen, the external air intake screen company, is making its debut at The HVAC & Refrigeration show, revealing its latest easy-to-fit designs.

Adding to a range of mounting options for its external screens used for all HVAC equipment and cooling towers, is the new RABScreen Continuous Attachment System (CAS).

It is estimated that there are some 47,000 chillers of 250kW and above in the UK, each chiller serving air handling plant. These are suffering daily from the chiller coils being contaminated with airborne debris where just 1mm of dirt will reduce efficiency by 21 percent.

RABScreen, however, has the answer to this problem with its high quality air intake screens.  These screens are easily fitted to the outside of dry air coolers, chillers, air handling units, condensers, compressors, cooling towers and generator intakes to protect the equipment from incoming debris.

A large data centre’s chillers have just been given valuable protection from contamination through the fitment of RABScreen air intake screens. The Hibernia Atlantic data centre is located on a one acre site on the north west coast at Southport in Lancashire.  It is a remote location surrounded by fields, and the chiller cabinets would normally be subject to local airborne debris in the form of seed, pollen, leaves and insects.

Under the banner of ‘Protecting all air movement equipment’ and with a newly developed logostyle, RABScreen has just launched a brand new website www.RABScreen.com

Using full screen images, the new website is user friendly and easy to navigate, illustrating how companies can save energy, time and money through the simple installation of RABScreen external filter screens to all air movement equipment.

Four UK companies have recently teamed up to provide a complete filtering solution to HVAC users. RABScreen, Galebreaker, DHD Cooling, and GVS Filter Technology, all specialists in their fields, have come together to offer comprehensive filtering and filter screen systems for HVAC equipment.

Keen to protect all its HVAC equipment from airborne debris and to maintain its efficiency, the Central Middlesex Hospital sought a solution for all its 28 locations adjacent to London’s A40.

RABScreen, the external air intake screen specialists, together with distributor GVS Filtration and their client Bouygues put forward a successful bid in a competitive tender and the team then subsequently fully surveyed all the hospital locations.

Richard Betts, managing director of RABScreen said: 'Airflow is the single most critical element in the correct operation of all air heating and cooling systems. Yet most systems do not have the correct airflow.

'As a result, compressors overheat, fans blow hot air and heat exchangers at their heart cannot provide the capacity and comfort that their manufacturers built and designed into them.

'Accurate cooling or heating analysis cannot be performed, system performance cannot be measured, and the servicing or commissioning process will be compromised if airflow is anything but correct, just ask any HVAC manufacturer.'
