G&L Beijer to buy Gasco Ireland

EUROPE: Swedish refrigeration wholesaler G & L Beijer AB is set to acquire Gasco Ireland Ltd for around £560,000.

With its headquarters in Dublin and a branch in Belfast, Gasco has an annual turnover of around £2m and will be merged with Beijer's existing Dean & Wood operation in Ireland.

The merger is expected to generate synergy gains through cost savings. The acquisition, says Beijer, also involves an extended product programme with the opportunity to reach additional customer groups with an improved product and service offer.

Beijer sees the acquisition as a step forward in the consolidation of the Irish market and makes it a leading refrigeration wholesaler in Ireland.
