J&E Hall backs fight to save the Grimsby Ice Factory
UK: J&E Hall, one of the most famous refrigeration companies, has added its weight behind efforts to save the Grimsby Ice Factory.
They join other supporters from the air conditioning and refrigeration industry including Telford-based contractor 3CL (another recent addition), ACR News, Advantage Air Systems, Business Edge, Heronhill and the Institute of Refrigeration
Significantly, it was J&E Hall of Dartford which installed the refrigeration plant during the 1930s upgrade. Equipment which is still standing in the Ice Factory and which helped to gain the Ice Factory's Grade 2 Star listing.
The Great Grimsby Ice Factory Trust which is co-ordinating efforts to save the historic building and its unique refrigeration equipment paid tribute to J&E Hall's long and expansive history, adding "We are proud that J&E Hall still recognises the Grimsby Ice Factory as a part of that history."

Grimsby Ice Factory and J&E Hall
By Geoff Jones
Having worked at J&E Hall in the 60's and worked on similar Compressors that were installed in Grimsby, that went to Linde Hall in Canada, 1 No Compressor supplied and to to a major project in Assam wher 2 No Compressors were supplied and I formed part of the commissioning team in Assam after helping to build the compressors in the works at Dartford, I feel that recognition of a great achievement in Grimsby is well founded..

Great that both J&E Hall and ACR News are backing the preservation of part of our industry's heritage. We can learn by knowing from whence we came, and in some cases, prevent us making the same mistakes. Well done.

Morning Paul. Trust all is well with you in Oz. In fairness a number of companies and groups (including the Institute of Refrigeration) from the acr industry are backing the preservation of the Ice Factory but we need more. It would certainly be appreciated if CIBSE were to become involved.
