The units have been installed at Dalziel Ltd in Chorley, Lancashire, which recently extended its chill room – almost doubling the storage capacity of the premises.
The company, which has 12 strategically located distribution depots nationwide, supplies a wide range of meat products and other equipment to the butchery and catering trade. It delivers quality service and value to more than 5000 retail butchery outfits. The product range includes frozen and chilled meat, meat seasoning blends and ingredients for food processors, crumb and battering systems, plastic casings for cooked meat applications and industrial food machinery.
The chill room extension project was specified and installed by Bolton-based Michael Ward Ltd. The company has a commercial refrigeration and air conditioning division and a transport division for refrigerated trucks and trailers. The company’s commercial manager, David Wright, appointed an approved sub-contractor to carry out the installation of the new chill extension before selecting the ideal cooling equipment for the job.
A J & E Hall twin fan JEH2-1000-M-3 Fusion Commercial Condensing Unit was specified for the chiller room where a range of boxed meat including beef, pork, lamb and chicken is stored at 2°C.
For the nearby loading area, two J & E Hall JEH2-0500-M-3 Fusion Commercial Condensing Units were specified to maintain 8°C. The units were supplied by FSW of Preston. David Wright explained: 'We have specified and installed J & E Hall condensing units for well over ten years now as our first choice where possible. They are well specified, competitively priced, reliable, and straightforward to repair and maintain.'
J & E Hall Fusion and Fusion Scroll commercial refrigeration units are the ideal solution for commercial refrigeration installations where noise, size and reliability are paramount. Housed in a cabinet made of electro-galvanised mild steel – with an anti-corrosion treatment – and coated in baked polyester powder paint, the units are able to withstand the most stringent weather testing.
The integral IP54 rated control panel provides further protection to all essential electrical components. All units are acoustically lined.
Fusion and Fusion Scroll condensing units are available for medium and low temperature applications.
Mark Wright is coldstore manager at Dalziel’s Chorley operation which supplies a large area extending to the Lake District, North Wales and the Pennines. He said: 'The new equipment is virtually silent and we have had no problems with it whatsoever. This site has been here for 20 years and the equipment needs upgrading from time to time. The new equipment is so much more energy efficient and this is important as cold rooms by their very nature are expensive to run.”
