CSA introduces commissioning management course

An Introduction to Commissioning Management course has been introduced by the CSA to give a real life insight and guidance to the entire commissioning management process.

Established in 1990, the CSA is an association for the commissioning industry within the construction world. Its membership comprises commissioning companies, individual commissioning engineers and associated companies (such as equipment manufacturers and instrument suppliers), who have a vested interest in ensuring that the commissioning function in today's complex built environment is carried out to a uniformly high standard.

This two-day course is split into eight sessions, providing exercises to assess and guide delegates through specific activities. Each session contains: the source material, detailed guidance through the process and an interactive exercise to end each session.

Session 1 – Management of the commissioning process: where the project starts – Request for Proposal (RfP).

Session 2 – Getting started on the project: Commissioning Plan – practical examples

Session 3 –Commissioning-focused design reviews: Key items to look out for different Building Services Systems and Commissioning reviews

Session 4 – Programming commissioning works: Commissioning Programmes – content and analysis.

Session 5 – Factory acceptance tests: Factory Acceptance Testing and FAT Tracking Schedules

Session 6 – Preparation for site-based works: Method Statements; Method Statement Trackers; and Commissioning trackers

Session 7 – Site-based commissioning works: Pre-Commissioning & Start-up Checklists and Commissioning Test Packs

Session 8 – Close-out and Post-handover: Final Commissioning Report and Seasonal Commissioning

On successful completion of all eight sessions each delegate will be awarded a CSA Introduction to Commissioning Management certificate.

In keeping with its other training programmes, the course will be conducted at the CSA offices in Horsham, West Sussex, with the first one set to take place on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March 2017. Further dates will be scheduled throughout the year.

This two-day course is priced at just £600.00 +VAT per person for all CSA Members and £700.00 +VAT per person for non-members.

For more information and to express interest in attending the course contact Julie Parker or Joanne Rowe at the CSA on +44 (0)1403 754 133 or by email at office@csa.org.uk
