Cooling and refrigeration energy specialist gains top safety accreditation

Excalibur Energy, a UK specialist in optimising energy efficiency and resilience for critical cooling and refrigeration systems, has been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety.

Excalibur Energy, a UK specialist in optimising energy efficiency and resilience for critical cooling and refrigeration systems, has been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety.

Excalibur optimises the efficiency of existing air conditioning, process chillers and refrigeration systems for the food industry, datacentres, cold stores, call centres, airports and other large buildings, where health and safety are of paramount importance.

Managing director of Excalibur Energy, Gareth Holden, said: “Safecontractor accreditation adds further confidence for the many organisations we work with, especially as many of our projects are in sensitive areas such as data centres, banks and airports, much of the work involves liaising to ensure that isolated equipment doesn’t have a detrimental effect on the environment it is serving. Many projects involve working at height on existing installations, where production must continue and the buildings remain occupied.”

Excalibur has worked closely with end users and facilities managers on hundreds of successful air conditioning and refrigeration installations and was one of the first specialists to employ Liquid Pressure Amplification (LPA) to deliver energy efficient floating head pressure operation, in commercial and industrial refrigeration.

The company has full design, installation and maintenance capabilities and is SAFE Contractor accredited - a recognition of its very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors. John Kinge, technical director of Safecontractor said: 'More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Excalibur has done.'
