Clivet air conditioning systems help new McArthurGlen outlet

Clivet has supplied the air conditioning for a new area within the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Serravalle Scrivia, Italy, which opened on 10th November.

The McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Serravalle Scrivia first opened in 2000. Since then it has grown to become the largest outlet in Europe, with more than five million visitors a year.

The new area is connected to the existing one by a steel and glass hyper technological bridge with benches and sound systems.

It occupies an area of 51,500 square meters, has 2,200 employees and houses 300 of the best fashion brands, bars and restaurants. It has a children's play area and free parking.

The whole shopping town is air-conditioned by Clivet systems

The existing area has been served by Clivet split systems since 2000. This system has been revamped with the substitution of external units with new condensing units. For the new area Clivet has provided more than 70 heat pump rooftop SMARTPACK units, chosen for their high efficiency matching demanding energy certification standards of Piedmont.

SMARTPACK is the innovative range of high efficiency autonomous air conditioners for air treatment, purification and renewal in small and medium environments such as shops, bars, small restaurants, service stations, showrooms, outlet villages, technical rooms and production areas.

The series offers big advantages for designers, installers and people which use and take care of plant maintenance:

The technical solutions adopted make the unit extremely compact and easy to integrate in a range of different architectural contexts. The unit integrates in itself the main plant components. Compared with the split and multi-split direct expansion systems and also with the hydronic systems, it makes possible to rid of all internal units, pipes, cables and technical spaces for connections. The result is a great compactness and integration. The rational effective construction simplifies installation and maintenance operations, reducing their cost.

The very high efficiency of the innovative cooling circuit, optimized for operation at partial loads, the free-cooling, the standard energy recovery on units with exhaust air, the electronic low pressure drop filters and the intelligent ventilation air management make a drastic reduction in energy consumption up to 50% compared to a traditional solution. In this way it improves the building energy performance and its value, reducing CO2 emissions with benefit for the environment.

The electronic filtration with H10 equivalent efficiency active on viruses, bacteria and fine dust grants maximum comfort and pure air in the shops.
