BSRIA’s next Understanding Level 2 BIM course takes place tomorrow, Tuesday 16th May, and is essential for those new to BIM, providing a general awareness of what BIM is.
It focuses on the Government’s BIM strategy for their projects and the eight components of BIM Level 2. It is split into four sessions: ‘Introduction to BIM’; ‘BIM Software’; ‘The BIM roadmap’ and ‘BIM documents and your next steps’.
This course is intended for professionals involved in the BIM process to help them design, construct and operate in the built environment, including building owners, consultants, architects, cost consultants, project managers, facilities managers and principle consultants. In essence: how BIM may affect what they do.
Delegates will gain a basic understanding of what BIM is and how they can incorporate it into their working practices, and what they will need to do to meet the BIM objectives on their projects.
David Churcher, course lecturer, delivers a thorough and knowledgeable session which demonstrates his excellent presentation skills as well as his extensive knowledge in the building service industry.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the building and construction sector, David has authored and lectured many of BSRIA’s established courses and publications. His most recent areas of professional interest have been life-cycle costing, the management of design and building information modelling (BIM). In addition to this, his knowledge of the industry is very extensive, which has benefited into his success as a lecturer and have provided valuable information to clients, delegates and colleagues alike.
Delegates will be provided with a free copy of a BSRIA Guide of their choice, the slides used in the presentation and a certificate entitling them to six hours of BSRIA CPD points.
