Temperature control specialist ICS Cool Energy has recently enhanced their energy efficient A-rated chillers and heat pump range. Their new imperium-i, imperium-FC and the high temperature heat pumps all guarantee class A efficiency and effective low noise operation, utilising the low ozone depleting refrigerants R407C and R134a.
Imperium-FC
The Imperium-FC air source unit is combined with Free Cooling coils, which allow either full or partial Free Cooling. This technology utilises low external air temperatures to cool the chiller fluid in HVAC and industrial installations, enabling the system compressors to turn off as conditions allow.
The powerful Imperium-FC unit is available from 332kW up to 1,450kW, and is able to achieve the full cooling demand, without activating the chiller’s compressors, through a direct heat exchange when the air temperature drops 2°C below the required temperature.
The equipment includes a semi-hermetic screw compressor optimised for R134a and axial-flow fans. The unit’s integrated hydronic module consists of two pumps or a 4-pole motor, fixed or variable speeds, with high or low head options to satisfy various applications.
Similar to the Imperium-i range, the Imperium-FC features condensing coils with copper tubes and aluminium fins, shell and tube single pass evaporator, and an electronic expansion valve. It can be fitted with an acoustic sound-proof package to ensure maximum low noise operation.
