SANHUA launches Braze Plate Heat Exchangers – BPHEs

With carbon neutralization the goal, it’s the top priority of most companies to increase the use of renewable energy and technologies to save energy and reduce emissions. The most direct and effective way to save energy is to improve the efficiency of our systems. Compared with other heat exchangers of the same purpose, properly designed BPHEs can provide higher heat transfer efficiency and lower pressure drops.

Sanhua have obtained EU PED certification and our BPHEs work with fluid groups 1 and group 2, including water, ethylene glycol solution, common HCFC, HFC, HC, as well as HFO refrigerants such as R410A, R32, R454B, R290, R134a, R404A, R507, R448A, R449A, R1234yf, R1234ze and R452A. The designed pressure is up to 50 bar. Our full range of stainless steel BPHEs are suitable for many different applications including as heat pumps, chillers and boilers.

Our wide range of BPHEs include many different sizes and models; evaporators, condensers, de-superheaters, fluid to fluid exchangers and compact exchangers that are easy to install, gasket free, and with a fully hermetic design. The main benefits of which are:

· Asymmetric Plate

By introducing an asymmetric plate design, we have reduced the volume of the primary side to increase the evaporating temperature and heat transfer efficiency, while still keeping the pressure drop within an acceptable range. Our data shows a dT that is on average 1K lower and a pressure drop 25% lower than similar asymmetric design products.

· Anti-freezing design

In the scenario of refrigerant/water exchange, it is necessary to prevent the water temperature from falling to freezing point and the plates from cracking.

· Plate with reduced depth

By reducing the depth of the plate, heat transfer efficiency has been improved while still keeping the pressure drop within an acceptable range.

· Highly efficient distributor

The Sanhua distributor has its own design patent, where the distribution holes are part of the plates making the heat exchanger extremely compact.

· Temperature fatigue resistance

Temperature fatigue happens mostly in heat pumps or cascade systems where high and low temperatures exchanges occur frequently, leading to the brazing between the plates failing.
